RFID RD 1 Reader

The RFID RD 1 was specially designed for access control since it can be easily connected to access control terminals.

This product works at a 125 kHz frequency, compatible with most 125 kHz cards for number extraction, or at 13.56 MHz, in the Mifare (NFC) version, compatible with the ISO 14443A standard.

This reader has a specific communication protocol to communicate with other Acronym products, which allows, for example, that a IOBoard will automatically detect the reader when it is connected to it.

This reader can be controlled online by 4 products:

• - IOBoard 3: controls up to 8 readers and is software configurable;
• - IOBoard 3 Wireless: controls up to 8 readers and is software configurable;
• - Turnstile Kit: controls up to 8 readers;
• - Evolution: controls up to 1 reader;
• - OutLock: controls up to 1 reader.

When doing a reading, by approaching a RFID card, tag or key to the reader, the data is sent to a terminal or to a IOBoard that validates the content of the information for access, time or production control purposes.

To power up this reader, it can be used a 7 to 24V continuous energy power source. This features facilitates the installation process since you can use the same power source for the reader and for a door latch.

The reader/recorder can work, USB connected, in two aways:

• - HID - for firmware upgrade;
• - Keypad - works as a computer keyboard, typing the data readed from the card in decimal, weigand or hexadecimal format.

This reader can be integrated with other hardware devices through a versatile interface that allows digital output in the following modes:

• - Magnetic - can replace magnetic card readers with clock and data signals;
• - Serial - serial transmission in decimal or hexadecimal format and reader deactivation input;
• - Acronym Serial - serial interface for communication with Acronym's controllers/terminals.
